What elements come together in what ratios to make the mineral. (Rocks are comprised of different kinds of minerals).

So the chemical composition of Halite would be NaCl.

The chemical composition or quartz would be SiO2.

The chemical composition of corundum would be Al2O3.

Chemical properties are things like melting point, specific gravity, colour, etc.
