I am going to the doctor tomorrow because I have been feeling bigger, more tender and more stretched out in my tummy. (Read my previous question for more deets) I get a bit shaky and nervous before all doctor appointments, so knowing what is going to happen really helps 2 calm my nerves. Does anyone know what things they would do to me? Thank you guys a lot, I really appreciate all of your answers :)

After you check in at the front desk the Medical Assistant will call you back to take your blood pressure, temperature, and weight. They will ask for information about why you are coming in.

Then depending on the specifics they may ask you to put a drape on the lower half (just using this as an example) after you are in the room.

Then you will sit in the room and wait for the doctor who will then come in after a few more minutes or so. They will ask how things are going and ask for more specific information about what symptoms you are noticing and if anything makes the problem worse or better. Ask for information about any recent procedures (if applicable) you might have had done, any additional tests (again if applicable).

Then after a few more questions they will start to examine the area by pressing on your belly area to check the liver, spleen, intestines. They may listen to the area with the stethescope to see if they hear anything out of the ordinary as far as sounds in that area goes.

Then depending on what they find they may order some bloodwork to check to see if blood cell counts are too high or too low and things like being deficient in certain vitamins like B 12 (another example).

They may also order some tests that involve x-rays. After all that you then wait for the results. Depending on the results they will ask you to come back in to discuss the results.
