-5/12 and 9/6 or 1 and 1/3rd. you have to find the lowest common denominator and multiply your numerators by the same number as you did their denominators. then do the math

1/4 3/12 - 2/3 8/12 = 5/12

5/6 + 2/3 4/6 = 9/6 = 1 1/2

Put the 5 on top of the 6 and put the 2 on top of the 3 because it makes it easier to multiply to get to common form
2/3 is the same as 4/6. If the bottom number is the same, then you can add the top numbers together. 6/6 is the same as one. 3/6 is the same as 1/2 - 3 goes into 6, 2 times and 3 goes into 3, one time = 1/2.
5 2 x 2 = 4 4+5= 9
6 3 X 2 = 6--------- 6 = 6/6 + 3/6 = 1 1/2

Hope this helps. This format on YA is not good for fractions.

1/4 =3/12 and 2/3=8/12 then you subtract both numbers
so the first one is 5/12 but you cant simplify it so number 1 is
5/12

the other is adding so keep 5/6 and turn2/3 into4/6 add 5+4=9 simplify so9/6 would equal 1 1/2 i hope that solved your question

1/4 - 2/3 is the same as 3/12 - 8/12, or -5/12

5/6+ 2/3 is the same as 5/6 + 4/6, or 9/6, (or 3/2)

-5/12 divided by 3/2 is the same as -5/12 times 2/3, which is - -10/36, or 5/18
