if I was to buy a new ipod... the one I have is the ipod mini 4gb.

I want to get a 80gb one.

I have 800 songs on the computer (itunes) with the mini one.

Would I lose these songs once I have the new ipod?

Do I just link the new ipod to the computer >?

No, you won't lose the songs, they will transfer to your new iPod when you connect it :)

The songs should already be on your computer. You should not lose the songs there. I would do one last sync with the mini and your computer.

With the understanding that you are purchasing a "brand new" ipod and not a used one. Once you plug in the new ipod and establish the relationship between the computer and the new ipod it should sync all the songs to the new ipod.

If the "new" ipod is actually a "used" one you could lose your library.

LOL I LOVE MOOFASA!!! Yes get an ipod, ipod's are good, sound good, are fun, handy, really great when your bored, wanna watch a movie, wanna listen to music, wanna view photos, wanna play games, ANYTHING. Get at least either one of the new generation ipods so that you can get the new features like cool games etc. Here are the options i recommend: ~ New Generation iPod (40, 60, or 80 gig) ~ iPod Chromatic Nano (16 gig) - GREAT AND WONDERFUL!!! ~ If you want the new generation regular (big/fatter one) get white! ~ If you want the Chromatic Nano (iPod Nano 4th gen) you can choose from MANY colors, i recommend red because it is the iPod associated with the "i want mine RED" company, and your money used to buy the iPod will be donated to an AIDS fighting charity Both have high def sound, video, and cool new games etc. Only the Chromatic Nano has features where you shake it and it automatically shuffles and you can also turn the iPod on its side and it goes into Cover Flow mode where you scroll through all the albums organized alphabetically by artist (BOTH FEATURES CAN BE TURNED OFF) Good Luck! ...dont eat me

No you won't lose them, but I would encourage you to read the instructions on how to sync the first time on apple/itunes very carefully. You wouldn't want to have it sync up and erase everything on your hard drive.

Enjoy the new toy!

Simply plug it into the computer, bring up iTunes and your ready to go. Wait till its done and it says snyc complete and unplug it and you will have everything you had on your mini! Except for photos.. You need to manually put them on...

your songs are saved in the library on your computer that you use now, so when you install the new I pod they will display your songs still.
