It's just the taste. New to her and the fruit is sweet. Keep trying other things and always go back to them later. My son never seemed to like anything the first time around but would love it later. Also try the cereal with the fruit flavor already in it and see if he will eat that. They are not as strong of a taste.

Try bananas, peaches and plums - you can try warming the applesauce a little and that might help.
If you do cereal -- make sure it's wholegrain (brown rice or oats is all she should be having right now) - Earth's Best makes some wonderful combos with 1st fruits. Check your healthfood store.
If she is totally refusing applesauce, it's not a big deal - maybe she'll like it later - try in a few days again. It takes a little getting used to when they're learning how to taste and eat real food. It's super common - my babies did this too.

My little sister was the exact same way. I would give her fruit and she would always make a face and spit it out. I think it might be just the fact that they are small and are trying new things...You know how when you first try something sweet or sour and it gives you that weird feeling in your mouth? It might just be that she's new to all these foods. My sister is now 5 years old and loves fruit. So it might just be that she's still little. You might want to try other things and just maybe try again with the apple sauce. She might like it next time :)

My baby will be 6 months next week and I just started rice cereal this week. My doctor said there was no rush for even that. At their age all their little bodies need is mom's milk or formula. Their systems are sensitive and he was saying that the only reason people start babies on food sooner is because of peer or grandparent pressure. Introduce foods slowly and one at a time. Don't give up on anything until its been tried over ten times.

Enjoy your little one, I am!

The best thing to do is STOP WORRYING!!!! She will in time accept it, or may not!!! Babies taste-buds are very strong and what taste sweet to us doesn't necessarily taste sweet to a baby. My son is 18months and still doesn't really care for certain fruits....so instead I juice my own fruits and give him the juice! And he accepts it readily!! Just keep offering it from time to time and maybe one day she'll surprise you! You can also try finding some recipes for babies that include foods that she has refused, and offer it to her with a twist!!!! Just as long as she's growing and staying healthy and you offer her good things, then your on the right track!!!

My 11 month old was like that as well. Then one day she just started eating everything. They say its better to wait to give them fruits because then they will not want the veggies and meats. Good luck

Definitely start with vegetables. Otherwise, after the fruit which is sweet; vegetables will be bitter and you'll never get them to eat those.

She probably just reacts to the new taste and texture. Try mixing a tiny bit in her cereal to see if that helps. If it does slowly add more and more until she will just eat it by itself. Good luck!!!!!

Stop giving her the fruits and try other things. There's all kinds of baby food.

are you giving her baby applesauce? a baby's taste buds are way more sensitive than ours and regular applesauce could have to much sugar. Also it will take her awhile to get used to regular food, just keep trying she will learn to like it. It could take 10 times before she learns to like something!
