It is true that it is perfectly normal and healthy, but too much of a good thing can also be bad. I read somewhere that excessive masturbation produces some hormonal disorder. That being said, everybody is different and some can do it every day or other day and be perfectly fine. However when people start to hit the extremes, either something is wrong with them, or they are just way too different. I'll say the normal is once every 3 days for teenagers, less as you age. From there, go either way but not too far.
