I dont like to moan about refs, but that was one of the poorest games ive seen a ref officiate, and you cant even moan about liverpool because they didnt cheat in any way(even the gerrard thing, you can only blame the ref for changing his mind)...it was the refs decision.
Both hibbert and neville deserved to get sent off, even the penalties for liverpool were right, even if the first looks to be outside the area, it was in real time and not slow mo, like most of us saw it in afterwards......but that foul by carragher on lescott was as much a blatant penalty as the p.neville handball on the line! He couldnt have thrown himself on the ground with such intensity even if he wanted to! Kuyt should have 100% been sent off in the 64th minute for a kung fu style tackle that could have been carreer ending had it connected with neville, and i still cant believe the ref decided to change the card after gerrard had a little winge... i wouldnt be gutted if he wasnt to referee a prem game again...you cant make that many awful decisions....especially when they favour ONE of the sides the whole time, and it wasnt even the home side, where you could have blamed the pressure from fans. Benitez reckons that lescott dived , i think since Mourinho's gone he can easily win the award for most hypocritical manager in the prem.

im sick of these everton fans coming on here and having a go at mark clattenburg......get over it, he is not the worst ref ever.....Uriah Rennie is......get your facts right. Who cares if he travelled Liverpool on the preseason tour...so what!!!!, he refs newcastle preseason matches even though he is a fan and has a season ticket for newcastle. He might have just not pulled out the red because he didnt look at the card he took out, it was a sending off and lescott should have went down the first time.....it just looked like he fell for the second one because he is a big lad and doesnt usually fall over so easily.

We have been on this topic since Saturday so i won`t repeat anything already said. I agree with RR (for a change!)
I don`t know if anyone else noticed about old Clatters on Saturday, he looked bewildered, sometimes scared of Carragher, Gerrard and co when he was spoken to, i havn`t seen that before from him. Maybe just a case of embarrassment at knowing them too well, i`m not sure, but it was a bit odd.
jjr3012- no way did it just look like Lescott just fell, even before we saw a replay!!

Yea he also travelled with Portsmouth and Bolton, they were all on the same plane. He was the FA appointed ref for the mini comp.

Clattenburg bottle up at the end of the game and didn't give the plenty to the poor Everton. FA should take action on such a referee..

of course he should be allowed to ref again, after all he was allowed to carry on after disallowing midos goal aginst man utd when the ball was 5ft over the line! as for travelling with l/pool pre season, of course he was, he was officiating in same comp!

refs have shockers, but this was one of the
only times it was completely one sided and not on just one or two big decisions.
