I think Boston has to be the favorite to win the Series but I believe the Rockies have a chance because they have that intangible of playing 3 games in Colorado and somebody will be out of the Sox lineup. The Rockies are playing fantastic baseball but has the momentum been broken by the long lay off. I feel colorado is good enough to win it but I believe Boston just has too much offense , pitching and relief so I am picking Boston in 6 but my heart is with the Rockies.

Boston is going to win in six. I'm sick of hearing about this streak. It was 8 days ago! The Red Sox are just to much of a team for the Rockies. Like 2004 the ALCS will be the best baseball all year. the world series is going to be another after thought

Yes they still have a shot. Yes they got whooped tonight but this is only the first game. Like someone pointed out earlier, a lot of these guys haven't even been to a World Series, or at least not very often. (with the exception of players like Beckett of course). I think the Rockies still have a very good chance. I'm not giving up hope!
Edit: And as someone else pointed out, the Cardinals did terrible last year, yet won the World Series! Not to mention so many people were saying that if the Rockies lost tonight, that they wouldn't make it at all. But then again, this is Beckett they went against. He is a VERY VERY VERY good pitcher who isn't easy to go against. I wish that the Rockies could have done better but let's not give up hope yet.

They definatly have a shot if they stay hot after their 7 day break. Otherwise, sox will win. I'm rooting for the Rocks.
Hey, remember the 2006 World Series. The Cardinals sucked and won, so I think that the Rockies have a great chance.

Beckett pitches tonight. His fastball is smoking. His control is phenomenal. Tonight's a win. Schilling comes next. He's getting old and has had to redefine himself as a pitcher. This game could go either way depending on offensive production. Dice K comes third in the rotation. When he's hot, he's hot; when he's not, he's not. I say he'll be on though.
So based on that information and the fact that Boston has bigger hits while Colorado plays more small ball, i'll take Boston in 5.

So, by Brent's estimation, the Rockies will win 5 games this series...split in Boston, 2 of 3 in Colorado, 2 of 2 back at Fenway.
I'd freshen up on that knowledge if I were you...

You really think it will be an upset, but I think they will be able to beat them, I don't know about sweep them, thorugh yes I know Boston has more play off expierence, Colorado has been the hottest tam throughout the end of the season, Boston had to come back in thier seires to the Cleveland Indians to earn thier ticket to the World Series.

only if rockies win tonight. otherwise i think the fact to lose a game after going 21-22 can snowball you to disaster. and himines a young pitcher will have to pitch being down 1 game is a lot of pressure.
I'm pulling for Colorado, but i think red sox will win they have veteran pitchers and that should give them the edge.
