Question 9
Sum = 2n + 2(2n + 2)
Sum = 2n + 2n + 4
Sum = 4n + 4

Question 10
Sum = n/4 + (n + 1)/5 + (n + 2)/2
Sum = 5n/20 + 4(n + 1) / 20 + 10(n + 2) / 20
Sum = (19n + 24 ) / 20

9. Let the even integer be 2x. {2x because it has to be even}

The next even integer is 2x + 2, so

two times this is 2(2x + 2) = 4x + 4.

The sum is 2x + 4x + 4 = 6x + 4

10.Let x be the lowest integer. The next one is (x + 1), and the next is (x + 2)

So you have to add; x/4, (x + 1)/5 and (x + 2)/2

= x/4 + (x + 1)/5 + (x + 2)/2.

This is the expression. I assume that this is the answer that you need.

9. If you start with an even integer, you have to add 2 to get to the next even integer (an integer is a whole number ... in other words it doesn't have any numbers after the decimal point). I'll call the first even integer x.
x + 2*(x+2) is the answer
2*(x+2) is 2*(next even integer)

10. "next integer" just means the first number +1. I'll call the first integer x as well
(1/4)*x + (1/5)*(x+1) + (1/2)*(x+2)
