Nope, not even if it is one of my reincarnated relatives. They should have behaved better in a previous life. Many kinds of Flies are useful and I don't kill them, only houseflies, mosquitoes, horse and deer flies. All are Diptera.

Tulip,
I cannot even kill a fly, really I am a total sissy. I know they are pests and the rest of it so instead I ensure that my place is not attractive to them. I am the type that saves ants, spiders and all living things from my pool. I extract spiders from the loo, stop traffic to allow chameleons to cross roads etc. A real bleeding heart. Do you remember the story about the Starfish that were washed up on the shore... well, I might not be able save them all but I make big difference to the ones that I am able to save from a certain death.

Heck no. They only live for a few days anyway, and they spread millions of germs that could make me or my family sick if they land on my food or other household surfaces!
I guess some people don't believe in killing germs either?
Wonder how that really deadly staph infection gets spread--can flies carry that?????
Flies do serve a purpose as a scavenger for dead animals and/or rotting food, but they don't belong around food you are planning to consume or around humans & pets.

This may sound weird, but sometimes yes. I mean it really wasnt doing me any harm; just trying to get through a normal fly day and I gotta go and squish it.
Although it does make me grateful that I was born on the top of the food chain.

i feel good when i go the extra step and open the window instead. I also get mad at my mom when she viciously chases them with the fly smasher. I understand the nuisance, but why so much feverishness for killing the poor creature? For me It comes down to recognizing and respecting life irrespective of the form it comes in.

No. All creatures have a purpose on this planet but some, like flies for instance are germ ridden creatures and blooming annoying to boot. Flies are a bit like rats....kill one and there'll be another 100 to take its place. Nasty little things they are.

Yes, unless it's bugging me then I feel satisfied. Other animals do the same. I seen a hobby get pissed off with a mobbing swift. It turned over grab it killed it and dropped it!

Depends. If it's in my house and it's a nuisance, then no. If it's outside, then I don't kill flies, but would probably feel guilty if I killed them.
