I had not seen this view. Just think, their problems are not over because as soon as the rains begin so will the mudslides. There will be nothing left to hold the soil in place and the homes that didn't get burned in the fire areas will slide down the hill in the mudslides. I'm sure glad I don''t live there!!!

Yes it is..I live in Riverside, CA and the smoke here is terrible. I am very luck to live out of the way of all these fires. They were also saying that the San Diego Fires---that they can't even get them uncontrol and contained until like Nov.4th. Terrible! I am so glad that Bush is offering government aid to the victims of the fires. I just hope they get enough to carry on because of what happened to the Katrina victims.

Rain isn't going to solve the problem unfortunately...I live in AZ and I lived in California. Stupidity is part of the problem, which can't be helped or fixed, as they say, "you can't fix stupid!" However, Mother Nature does the same thing with lightning and brush fires. So, either way there's going to be forest fires. It's difficult to prevent them.

thats so sad... Cali must be the most cursed state in America...If they aren't having mud slides, their having fires...if its not fires, its earthquakes...

Crazy, crazy Cali...

I feel sad for all those people who have lost everything.
