I moved in 10-19 and I still cant take a bath or shower because the faucet is still broke. Roaches are everywhere and other minor issues still have not been taken care of. I dont wanna stay there for a year only maybe 6 months. What can I do to get out of the lease?

write a letter stating , you need these things taken care
with in 24hours, only the 911 things within 24hours!! or you will sue .
if you take pictures.and a copy of your letter
you can quit your lease on the grounds they didnt provide
the services,stated o n your contract,
so the contract is null and void period
but don't stop paying them ever ,that goes against you in court

Read your lease carefully. There would probably be a clause in there concerning pest control--esp. if they pay for it. If not I would go to court...After hurricane Katrina ruined my carpet, I was told it was an act of God and stated as such in the lease. They were right. However, the judge ruled that replacing the carpet is an "act" of management and do it plus reimbursement for 1 months rent. You never know. Go see da judge...

Get a copy of "The Landlord Tenant Handbook". Look carefully for what your circumstances would fall into and do as it says. Worked for me for over a year. I never paid a dime in rent or security because of the living conditions. You also might be able to find a copy on line with a little bit of research.

Good luck

I'd collect the little buggers in a jar or video tape them and go to small claims court. Yea, its 25$ but heck do it!
