I received an answer back from the uh uh uh nice folks at Yahoo about us having a sub-category for Classic Country music. I received a true don't give a damn and canned reply to my request on our behalf. I really should have expected this and actually did but didn't think it would hurt to ask. I ain't through yet though. I reckon none of the big shots up there have names because they didn't put one on it. Here is their reply:

Thanks for your suggestion. We currently do not have plans to add subcategories to this section, but will keep Country in mind if we decide to.

What do you all think about this response?

Thanks Loretta, I did that and here is what I sent to them. Now all of you people go there and let your voices be heard. Thanks

the need for a country music sub-category

I submitted a request to yahoo about making a sub-category for the country music section due to the fact there is such a varied difference between todays country music and the classic country music of yesteryear. There is quite a following in the country music section and many of us see the need for a subcategory to enable us to use it in yahoo answers. I sent them an email and they sent an answer back basically saying they were not considering such action at the present time. I think the folks who enjoy yahoo answers deserve a proper forum to allow the members to discuss this particular avenue of music. What do you other classic country music lovers think?

Hii Tommy, I must have missed this but unfortunately the yahoo system seems to rely upon automated answers. Might I suggest that you post it to the "Forum" (You can find it up above the "discover" in green letters on this page and in small blue lettering). Quite often you will get a yahoo representative actually read and answer on the forum. Not only that, but if you post it there and let us know that you did, we can add our own personal comments. It seems that if a subject receives enough public attention on the forum that a real live person from yahoo will take notice of it. Just a suggestion.

Additional attempts at asking them to add the subcategory may cause them to recognize the need for a sub-catebory for classical country music because of the vast differences between modern and classical country music.

Sounds like the response *I* got to a "Dixie Chicks" question in Country Music....I answered the question with Clark Gable's famous line at the end of "Gone With The Wind" and got a message from the "Powers That Be" at Yahoo Community Guidelines saying that my answer was deleted because I spelled the famous last word of that phrase out.

Just tells me "Big Brother" is **indeed** watching...and likes playing the game. Sounds just like what you learnt with this venture.

But, I do like your questions...they're thought-provoking on a subject I enjoy! Keep up the good work!

It sounds like it didn't get even a moment's consideration. Maybe additional attempts will help.

Sounds about right. No need to separate country, thus alienating people from it.
