The theory of darwinism or evolution...pretty important stuff.
Essentially, he postulated that the fittest animals (or humans) in a species would be more likely to reproduce and therefore pass on their DNA. Over time, this would result in more and more of that species having the traits that help them compete and survive better.
This is also called natural selection.

Charles Darwin wrote a book called "Origin of the Species". He proposed that naturual selection was how evolution changed creatures over time.
