Really quite safe, just avoid the south-eastern part near the Iraq border and excercise some good old common sense and be streetwise, as you should be wherever you go.

Everybody is safe to travel to Turkey except the Armenians.

If you stay in and around Istanbul, it should be no problem - Turkey has historically welcomed visitors from around the world, with few problems. As mentioned above, it would be wise to avoid the border region.
