the contestants are absolutely inspiring. they worked and practiced so hard, they dont act out as a diva, they dont complained as much, they listen and they comply.
they're full of determination and strongwill! they never give up and never felt ashamed of their 'lacks'. *hugs them*

Because the regular olympics are merely participants with world class talent that they developed.
Special Olympics are people with world class heart and determinination that they used to develop talents.

When the Special Olympics first began, it was politically correct to call people with mental disabilities "special." This term is no longer correct. Now, we say that they are developmentally delayed.
