I tell people to use this interval between now and Thanksgiving Day to give some thought about not spending themselves into poverty again this Christmas, not to send so many Christmas cards, to put a limit on how much they will spend, and to devote some serious down time to making Christmas into something that has deeper meaning than their pocket books.
