Its a great way to grow veg and flowering plants in the winter, it will keep the frost off. I don't know what country you're in, but if the UK, also its great in the summer - the poly tunnel will give extra heat, and you can grow some mediterranean veg - eg peppers, aubergines, chillies. The only disadvantage is you will get pests, eg greenfly etc when its hot, but you can use some pest control. You also have to water alot too, when its hot, as plants dry out quickly in the protected atmosphere. Happy gardening!

If you mean one of the metal structured greenhouses covered with plastic then they have drawbacks because they retain moisture inside and if you are growing things like geraniums then the leave rot with the damp. During Spring they are useful for giving extra heat to bring on seedlings but you need to keep the plastic dry.

Watch out for the wind! I have one in my back yard and if the wind blows just right and hard enough the panels have come out.
