Yes.

Mostly by high school (grade 9-12) sometimes younger. I heard and sang it many times on HS band trips. Not so often in college. It may start but soon dies as everybody giggles. Only in HS did I hear it sung all the way through. Yes, it is silly and monotonous but at that age, that seems to be appealing. It isn't something one would sing alone, it has to be a group effort, preferably one in which all are exhausted. After the appropriate age, a little drunk also helps.

Gosh, the last time I heard it, it was in a WWII movie made in England by the English. It is not something heard often, that is for sure. American music pretty much crosses the spectrum...jazz, blues, classical, folk, country, rock n roll, hip-hop, etc...and because it is where the money is, music companies chase the youth market. Whatever 99 bottles is, it is not a teenager's delight, is it now?

This song was popular in the 1970's to sing in cars on long trips or at camps in the mountains or at parties.

It is not that popular to sing anymore regardless of what people are doing. Perhaps we realized how dorky it is

It's not like its a big thing or anything. Like "oh yeah mean lets go sing that song OMG" But yeah people sing it sometimes. I've sung it before when I was little to annoy my parents on a long car ride.

Yep silly as it sounds school kids on bus trips sing it and loud. Also Row Row Row your boat in rounds. Really young children to help become familiar with counting even it is sung backwards.

Yep.

Especially when you have a bus full of scouts on their way to camp who otherwise would be bored. Songs like that and others keep their spirits high and tend to make time pass more quickly.

As a kid I did. But usually got bared at 95 and started a new one. Don't sing it at bars because that will get you cut off.
