http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3077037

who do you think the starters for the timberwolves are gonna be?

Could it be?

PG Foye
SG Gerald Green
SF Corey Brewer
PF Al Jefferson
C Theo Ratliff

how do you think Dwyane Wade and Ricky Davis are gonna co-exist in the backcourt

do you think its a wise idea by Minnesota to plan on buying out Antoine Walker and letting him go?

which team do you think will offer walker a contract considering he is realy out of shape

wayne simien/ earl barron/ michael doleac...

who cares if we get the names right...they're all scrubs and backup, they'll have minimal impact wherever they go

Antoine walker and ricky davis are the focal points of the HEat/twolves trade

so how good is Ricky Davis and Mark Blount really?
From the looks of the last season, they'll be big help for the Heat who need depth. Getting rid of Walker is huge and they gave up a couple of bench warmers, though Doleac wasn't bad, Im sure Blount is better. I feel that the only good coming out of this for the Wolves is that first round pick....they have some good young talent, but I honestly believe they are gonna struggle winning a measly 20 games this season. The Heat on the other hand will go about .500 until Wade comes back, and they' ll make another playoff run....

It's a good trade for the Wolves, just because of the 1st round pick. They don't care about Antoine Walker... they're just building for the future. I'm not sold on your hypothetical lineup, because I don't think Gerald Green is ready to be a starter and he's really a SF, not a SG.

It's ok for the Heat because they didn't really use Walker very much anyway. Ricky Davis will be a big help for them, especially for the first month of the season while Dwayne Wade is out with his injury. They're going to be better in the short term, but in time they will miss that 1st round pick. Just wait until their older players are all gone (J-Will, Shaq, 'Zo, Ricky Davis, etc)... I can guarantee that they're going to have a fast decline over the next couple years, from title contenders to the bottom-dwellers of the league.

Walker will find a new home with a team in need of scoring, but he'll have to take a lot less money than he's making right now. Maybe the Bobcats could use him now that Adam Morrison and Sean May are both out for the year.

The deal seems like a salary dump for the Timberwolves while the Heat get a legitimate third scoring option in Ricky Davis as well as some interior scoring from Mark Blount (Shaquille and Alonzo Morning are not getting any younger).

As for the T-Wolves, a good "realistic" starting five would be this:

PG Randy Foye
SG Gerald Green (though this is the "X" factor position...anyone can be here)
SF Antoine Walker
PF Juwan Howard (or better yet, Corey Brewer)
C Al Jefferson (or a solid 10 minutes from Theo Ratliff)

Hope this helps!

Sorry but your info is incorrect... Miami traded Antoine Walker/ Wayne Simien/ and 1st round pick. I think that this is a very good move for Miami because I think that Ricky Davis will come off the benck for Dwayne Wade if he needs a rest. The Timberwolves arent probably getting anyting off of this trade because just like u said, they might buy out Walker. if the Timberwolves do buy Walker out, I think he will land in Los Angeles because they really need a post scorer.

That's not what the article said. It's Walker, Simien, and Doleac for Davis and Blount.

At this point in his careeer, Antione Walker is a scrub too.

this is a good trade for both teams Ricky Davis avg 17.0ppg 4.8ast 3.9rebs last season and he is goin to the Miami Heat a team that is already a playoff team and they got Mark Blount he avg 12.3ppg 6.2rebs last season I think Miami is still in the mix with the elite teams in the east Dwayne Wade returns in the middle of November this is still tough team to contend with and when u bring up elite teams in the east I think u have to bring up this team
