I've stayed at RMH for months while my child was sick. They have cooking facilities and rooms with private bathrooms. A grocery store gift card and a basket of nice personal care items would probably be much appreciated.
If she reads, maybe send a book- at some point she will have to (physically and mentally) relax, and when my child was ill I found it very difficult to do that- a book can help. A prepaid calling card might be nice, too, since most NICU's don't like cell phone use and offer you their desk phone to use instead, BUT it's often a long distance call to call anybody, since most towns don't have a RMH and children's hospital.

Preemies need tiny little clothes which can actually be hard to find considering where you live. My daughter was born small and we could only find the clothes in two places--babiesrus and Walmart. (That was a year and a half ago in Kansas City) I would pick up some clothes for the babies, preferably ones that snap up the middle because the babies might be on monitors where the clothes need to be opened in the front. Also, preemie diapers can be a challenge to find, too. I prefer Pampers Swaddlers. Oh, with the clothes, the warmer the better because the babies probably don't have much body fat.
As for her, phone cards to call loved ones who are long distance, munchie food (something healthy, like pretzels), if she's breast feeding, she might need some tops that open in the front (button up) and accessories like storage and lanisohl, gift certificates for gas and fast food, toiletry items, and maybe a good book with a happy ending that doesn't require much thought.

Aromatherapy body wash and body lotion, a bath robe and those nutritous snakc bars that have omega 3 fatty acids in them for pregnant or nursing mothers. Belly Bars is what they're called I think. They're yummy!
Oh! And also a couple of books... one about parenting twins and another about caring for newborns (ideally preterm ones)... if there's anything like that available. You could also add a journal and a nice pen for her to jot down her thoughts.

You know those keyring things that let you load up a bunch of digital pictures? An easy way to tote snaps of the twins might be just the thing.
Cookies wouldn't be bad. Wine would be great. Just calling regularly would be fantastic; I'd imagine she's rather lonely, isolated, and scared.

Toilitries - shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc.
Books on preemies, how to take care of them, etc.
Baby calendars
Disposable cameras to take pictures of the babies with
A foot mold thing - to take molds of their little tiny feet - she'll never believe they used to be that small when they get older
snacks for mom
gift cards to local restaurants there - so she can go out to dinner
Gas gift cards for her car
A touching card and flowers would be nice as well

Yes!!! Get her a nice basket of shampoo, disposable razors, conditioners, soap, cookies, crackers, soda or juices...nuts, fruit, breakfast cereal w/ boxes of milk (that won't spoil w/out refrigeration) jello's, puddings (lunch box varieties, chocolate bars and or granola or some type of cereal bars or protein bars...It is expensive to eat in the caffs and she needs to eat. Also put some magazines, a book...etc..
That is very kind of you!

I would say cash. Or a gift card to a walmart of target. Its so hard to know, even for her to really know, what she NEEDS right now. But cash can be used at any moment for anything, even if its gas to get some where.

One of the best products I found after I had my son is called "Pssssst" - it's dry shampoo! It's like baby powder that's in an aerosol can. Perfect for when you can't shower because you're looking after a newborn (or two) It gets rid of the greasies & makes your hair look like you just showered and blow dried it.

The nationwide Geographic is fairly effective. The boy loves it. Little woman has had a huge gamble to study it to boot. The Boy took it to college proper away! He had to coach all his acquaintances.
