My husband and I are going on a short trip in December...any ideas for some fun stuff to do? We aren't into hard-core partying and gambling...we are going to see Cirqe du Soleil, but we can't decide on a hotel or what to do, besides shop and eat...is there a fun place to go dancing? Anything romantic or unique? Please help! Thanks.

We don't have kids...

And if you have rude or gross things to say...don't bother.

To pick a hotel, you need to think about what you want. Do you want an incredible spa? I'd go with Venetian. (They have a Canyon Ranch Spa.) Do you want a lot of choices for food? I'd go with either New York New York (they have a large food court, plus four or so other places to eat.) or Caesar's Palace - there's a lot of restaurant choices in the Forum Shops. Do you plan to shop? Then stay at Caesar's Palace. (Unless you have deeeeeep pockets. Then Bellagio or Wynn are up your alley.) Do you want to be pampered and want an elegant place? Then Wynn, Bellagio, or Mandalay Bay would be for you.

I suggest you visit some of the websites for the various properties to figure out what atmosphere you want and what clubs there are in the hotels. (Many of the clubs can be crowded, and there's always long lines for them.)

We stayed at the Mandolay Bay - its georgeous.
There are several Cirque du Soleil - I was told by people who went that the Beatles ones is great fun. We don't gamble much either, but its fun to visit the different casinos and just walk around on the strip - We rented a car and went to Red Rock Canyon , and the Hoover Dam. I highly recommend both. If you have the money, you can go by helicopter to the Grand canyon. It was too pricey for us. A must see is the fountains at the Bellagio . We also saw a comedian at tha sahara - we really enjoyed that - not for kids though :

If you have kids, go to Red Rock Canyon. They have a small wild west show that is still enjoyable for the parents along with a fairly nice zoo. Its about 25 minutes outside of Vegas.
