It would only be a problem if you think you are better than others for being latina. But if you do not put other cultures down there is nothing bad about that. If someone specific is not happy with how you express your pride you could look into whether that person is just sensitive or whether you may be saying things in a way that devalues other cultures. It is good to have pride in your background but not to brag.

It ain't bad. I'm Aussie/ Dominican so I'm only half latino but am damn proud of it. It doesn't make you racist to love your heritage and culture, but I do see why some people might not like that. The whole thing about the 21 century is that there is alot of cultural blending. Meaning that lots of people are okay with everyone's culture, but if you are really deep into your own culture than they think you don't like or accept anyone elses culture or heritage.

There's nothing wrong with pride in yourself.
If I tell you I'm proud of the man I've become, you would probably say "good for you!" or something like that.
If I tell you that I'm proud of all that I and other white men have become, you'd probably think I was being racist and say so.
In a world that claims that it wants to break down all the racial barriers, the only hope for success in that is to actually do it, which means that the minority races have to be as "race neutral" as the majority races are expected to be.
If this world wants to be as unbiased as it claims, than race and heritage need to never be brought up at all. Period. End of story.

What have "we done" sticking up for your culture is not making it an issue of marketing that you are a proud latina. You can show you are proud latina by your actions, not your mouth. Be yourself and be proud but not pushy. The hispanic culture is a rich and beautify one, don't make it look bad

i am guessing that you asked this question because someone has said something to you; and they were wrong for that. no, there is nothing wrong with being proud of your culture and sticking up for it when needed. everyone should be proud of who they are and where they have come from. it is sad that some people don't. i'll go out on a limb to say that the person who gave you their two cents probably doesn't care for themselves too much.

You should always be proud of who you are and where you came from. The issue for some is that you are in America, so you need to put American values and culture first.
Those who demand we adopt holidays, culture, and language from other countries in America - in my view - are wrong. You came or live in America to be an American. If you want everything in Spanish, move to Spain. If you want everything in French, move to Canada or France, etc...
Embrace your culture, and be proud of where you came from. But most important is to know where you are now. This is America, we speak english, we have our own history, and we are glad to have you become part of us - not us part of you.
I think that is the issue most people argue about.

Racism means to believe that one race is superior to another. It would be a stretch to call you racist and know what you are talking about. You can rest assured that people calling you racist are ignorant. So don't pay them any mind.
Still, "we" is a lot of people as Latinos embody a lot of different people, some of which have more reason to be proud than others.

There's nnothing wrong with being Latina. Being culturally aware is one thing but to for any one race to treat others as though they are inferior is wrong. I have worked with many who prefer different terms for their hispanic decent. As they have shown me that their are subtle differences to the culture based on region. It is fascinating for me to visit and be able to see the various differences. It is a shame to see so many people in this country filling themselves up with supeiriority complexes. I was raised that The US was called the Great Melting Pot because our contry has it all here. Every nationalaity is represented here. That is an accomplishment that should be a coninued point of pride for all people living here. Keep your chin up.
