I am a student and I am developing a website. I have coded an rss feed onto my web page which links to another website. However I think I need to have a web address myself before I can get it to work properly. Does anyone know if there is another way of getting it to work without a web address. If not how do I get one? A free one if possible.

i used bravenet.com...its okay as long as you already know how to do the basics with a web page cuz online support is dismal. But Free is Free. your url is myNewPage.bravehost.com

I hated the interface from Freewebs...a lot of ppl use it though..so check em both out! again..free free free

Do a search for "domain registration". There are many services that can register you web site for you. There is normally a fee for doing it, as they have to pay for the paperwork processing.

An alternative is to host the site on one of the many places that give you a "free" web site. The disadvantage is that you get stuck with their name as part of your site. "your_site.tripod.com" or "your_site.geocities,com", etc. The advantage is that you usually get one or more e-mail accounts for the site, scripts to make it fancier, form processing, etc. saves a lot of time, effort and expense over setting it all up yourself.
