A friend of mine did some short-story writing that had some Star Wars/Trek crossover, with the ships from the two universes against each other. His conclusion, after he put a lot of thought into it, was that the Enterprise would beat an Imperial Star Destroyer. For two reasons ...
1) The Enterprise's weapons would be more effective. In Trek, the phasers are continuous streams of energy (even though they generally only last for seconds) and would carve up the ISD's shields like a Christmas turkey. In Star Wars, the weapons are blasters which fire bursts of energy, and even a Star Trek runabout's shields could repel those all day long.
2) The Enterprise would fly rings around the Star Destroyer, especially if there were a talented pilot like Sulu at the helm. In Empire, the ISDs are shown as not very good at fine maneuvers.
In my friend's writing, a Star Trek starship turned up in the Star Wars universe, and had about the same effect there as the Borg did at the Battle of Wolf 359. I guess the ultimate matchup would be the Borg vs. the Yuuzhan Vong! :-)

Star destroyer. The Enterprise is proudly more power full but don;t forget there or tie fitters on that thing

NO WAY! The Star Destroyer- even the DeathStar (or is it the same?) would obliterate the Enterprise hands down!

Nothing could be the Enterprise in the long run. Otherwise "Star Trek" would have to fold, and that's just not going to happen.

Yes. Good always triumphs over evil, (at least in the movies...in the final sequel). The Enterprise is faster, (Warp Drive kicks light-speed a$s), and has better weapons (Phasers and Photon Torpedos vs. plain old lasers). The Enterprise would win, hands-down!!!!
Plus, Kirk would beam over and drop-kick Darth Vader before he knew what hit him!

Yes. The enterprise beat the Borg in First Contact. Starfleet officers are much better trained and can execute better tactics.

I think it could, but then again it depands on how effective the destoryers laser are agaist sheilds.
But if it was a borg cube the cube would win.
