Slaughter was almost halfway through his 41st year when he homered off Tex Hughson.

Luke Appling (when he was 75) hit a home run on old timers day against Warren Spahn.

I know it's only an exhibition game, but to say a hall of famer never hit a home run would be wrong.

No hall of famer has ever hit a homer. Not even a regular game, much less the series.

You have to be retired 5 years to be in the hall of fame.
