You won't EVER have a "normal" period on depo.

you could bleed for months, you could have a somewhat regular period, or you could spot at odd times of the month.

Please check out the reviews in the link above and google "depo provera lawsuit" before getting your next shot.

until this year I had taken the depo for about 12 years and no period there is nothing wrong just how it works for some people actually i thought that was the great part, now some women have extended periods and they do gain weight really it all depends on the person it worked for me , but not my sister ....if you only problem is no period I wouldn't be worried its normal.

When I was on Depo I did not have normal periods, in fact I gained a lot of weight. I eventually went off but I personally think it might have had something to do with my early perimenopause.

I was on the depo shot for about 18 mos and didn't get my period the entire time. It kinda shuts down your system so you will have irregular periods. I did gain wait too about 20lbs. but it was worth not dealing with that monthly issue! call your dr if you are truly worried....

Well, you completely loose your period when on Depo. I was on it for 3 years with no period. After you stop taking it it can take a year for your periods to become regular again. I got mine back after 3 months and then I went on the pill, which can also help regulate you.

i don't know much about the depo shot except that it does make you gain alot of weight. about your irregular or non existant periods...well you could have a condition called hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. which is either your thyroid glade that produces female hormones may either be making to much estrogen hormones or too little. you should ask your doctor about it.

Give your doc a call, but abnormal bleeding I've heard can be normal for the first few times. If you are spotting any at all I think they will say that's normal.
