Ignorance breeds hate.
If one cannot understand it, if one cannot see that these things are the way things are, then they will find ways to make fun of it, beat it up, or try to kill it (See IRAN).
It is sad that people can't just live and let live, isn't it?
I am heterosexual, have friends of all walks of life, have relatives of all lifestyles. Who in the world put me in charge of judging one's choices, one's life, one's things they cannot choose? I think that is someone else's responsibility much higher than me or you.
I agree with you--love is love. Who should hate that which is love is not a good person, and will not go where they believe they are heading by hating that which is love.
Good question, and I feel for you.

Well, please read all of this, and to explain I will have to mention God, in the bible god states that he is against homosexuality, that it is a sin. on earth however, we are all sinners, we are to ask him for forgiveness for our sins and accept him as our Christ and savior to enter heaven. then we are to try to change our behavior being it to be a drug addict, murderer, gay, thief, lier or whatever. People who are not gay do not understand your lifestyle and thinks its gross, because most men want to have sex with a women, and most women want to have sex with a man. GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE. A penis was made to go into a vagina to make babies, breasts were made to nurse the babies. All mammals do this humans and animals are mammals. Do animals have sex with the same sex? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Are they smarter than humans? I don't think so. Not being a smarty, just trying to make a point. I do believe however, listening to homosexuals that they do have a hormone imbalance or a chromosome disorder that makes you interested in the opposite sex. I hope this helps.

People are scared of things they don't understand. Calling it gross and wrong is just the easy way to rationalize being close minded. If they had to give it too much thought then they may have to step out of their comfort zone and that is scary to some people. I see nothing wrong with being gay.

Some people are just afraid of what they don't understand, and aren't interested in trying to understand.
Some people believe everything they are taught, and if what they've been taught either doesn't include information about homosexuality, or tells them it's wrong, they'll reject it or believe what they were taught, even if it flies in the face of all the evidence. It's like when Ronald Reagan claimed that most pollution was caused by trees.

Well it is the same for religion. Why are so many people against non Christians. I think Christ was ok, human ....but not infallible! I don't think I have to say that Jesus is my savior to get the same privilige of returning to the source of creation when I die! There is no real proof that this guy is anything all that special to me. I like finding ways of settling differences that are non violent and being and finding people that are approachable in life to help me or I to help them and be accepted for it. That part about Jesus I like.
His ungraceful denouncement of what he saw as wrongs in life got him killed. It has caused a lot of hate since. He is not my hero, dying on a cross or not!
People get taught, brainwashed, that life is a certain way. Societies, governments, polarize the populations to an acceptable norm. This is agreed upon by the fundamentalist traditionalists. They do not want change.
I personally feel sick thinking about same sex marriages etc. Thoughts of Aids and STDs cross my mind. Thoughts of sodomy and such.
On the other hand, Affirmation between any persons is FANTASTIC and should be practiced along with other sharing methods. I welcome that companionship. I have found affirmation orgasms, with all my clothes on and no touching, to be far more powerful than any drug or physical contact method of orgasm.
So there is room for people to be different to me. I just don't see the physical sexual orgasm between same sex as being all that healthy.
I can, however, be compassionate for those who do. I think each of us has shortcomings. Homosexuality would be a shortcoming for me. For some it might not be. Some people are born with abnormalities that force them into a different category of physical contact. When they have not experienced Affirmation Orgasms, they will choose the drug of choice, physically stimulated orgasm, and get it where they can to satisfy that yearning, when they feel it.
I was not born that way, but I have found that the Affirmation Orgasm is far superior anyway!
Until mankind can meld in Forgive Affirmed Spirit, there will be this preoccupation with being gay or lesbian. Nature has unfolded a new way. Maybe more people will learn about it, practice it, and AIDs and STDs will disappear from mankind!
It is said that in the future, a little ways off, that we will be bisexual in our nature, having both sets of organs, geneticallly engineered that way to experience more attributes about life than our original selves. Who knows? I am not ready to have a baby yet! lol
Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine
In Forgive Affirmed Spirit

Darlin', I can't answer your question other than to tell you that people are bigots and prejudiced.
But let me go on and tell you this: There is a lifestyle out there for people who are "different." It's called BDSM or "the lifestyle." It encompasses gays, bis, heterosexuals, homosexuals, swingers, etc. All of those of us who live and play on the edge. BDSM = bondage, discipline, sado-masochism. I will list below for you some websites where you can meet like-minded folk. Remember, you must be 18 to go to these sites and be careful. As in all walks of life, there are both honorable people and sleazebags there!!! In order to be BDSM it MUST be safe, sane and consensual. If it isn't, then it's abuse. Be careful and play safe.
Have fun! And don't let the small stuff get you down.

You are right.. people should not be against someome because of what their sexual preference might be! But lets be honest about this now, people are very judgemental when it comes to someone who is NOT LIKE THEY ARE! It is sad but we have a very bad case of descrimination regarding people who we deem different in some way. We should all look deeper within ourselves and ask why so much hatred to begin with? Is it because we do not always like what we see in the mirror at our own selfs? Makes you thinks a bit, or at least it should! :)

To be honest there are still studies going on trying to determine if there is indeed a genetic indicator of homosexuality. It has not been proved as of yet.
It's a matter of preference and frankly it's their choice to make. With regards to why most people have a problem with it? Well anything different, out of the norm, tends to get a negative response from people.

Put the same question in case of animal kingdom. What would be the answer.
Can you squeeze milk from cows, and other mammals.
After all to get more milk, human beings resort to artificial impregnation to the animals by veterinary Doctors, denying them the comfort of meeting their opposite partners in natural sex.
we are so selfish. But when it comes to us, i.e. the human beings, we may behave any number of un natural and mad way of self pleasure.
The attraction between the opposite sex and the natural meeting between them is the way how human beings are further born.
So what all you described is thought as not in tune with nature

I haven't actually known anyone who didnt like gays or lesbians. Are you maybe just paranoid about it?
I think if people are treating your differently it might be because some people are worried they might say the wrong thing, or appear to be prejudiced, so don't know what to say.
I say we just get over it and move on.
