I don't have a creative bone in my body. Many of you have mentioned that you paint, do arts and crafts, etc. Please share what it is that you do. If any of you has a website showcasing your work, please share that as well. Thank you!

thanks for the excuse to toot my own horn,lol...
I paint everything that doesn't get up and run away from me, is how my husband explains it.I like to save found objects and make them fun and colorful...and I will stop beside a roadside pile of abandoned furniture in a heartbeat.I like to paint chairs, and sometimes I take the seat out of them, and make planters of them.I also carve staffs/walking sticks, and I carve and paint gourds. I used to do wall murals, and etch glass surfaces like windows and shower enclosures; that is very taxing work physically though, and I don't like scaffolding so that's over.
once in a blue moon I actually paint pictures, too.I like painting people.
I also used to make jewelry;it was very satisfying and I did sell a lot of it,but I stopped and I still have a bunch left that I made...it's funny I almost never wear ANY !

I'm not arts and crafty in the usual sense of the words, but rather any talents I have lie in interior decorating - placement, fabric , form, style, selection of themes etc.- love shopping at flea markets, estate sales and the like. At one time I wanted to retire and open my own business 'Dime Design"
Didn't realize I'd have to keep working in 'the real world' this long though.

I CAN find remarkable uses for things a lot of people would throw out and turn them into treasures! Point in fact: A few months ago my kids came by to visit and all remarked how much they simply loved a new painting/print I had hanging on the wall in my dining room. After all admired it, they asked me where I bought it....

Ready for this? It was the top of a shoe box! Can't remember the shoe store now, but I had bought boots and the top had this beautiful somewhat modernistic print of a woman in red and I really liked it....So I carefully cut it out, bought an ebony frame and mat and VOILA! Since then many have remarked how special that piece is...some I tell, some I don't LOL

I write also - mostly commentary on issues facing the younger set today.

I never thought I was artistic either. My mom and sister crocheted, sewed and made crafts. My husband and brother do woodworking. My brother and daughter can draw well and play musical instruments. Then a couple yrs ago, I started making jewelry and my own greeting cards and my sister got me a calligraphy set, so I can learn that.

Another thing is I'm right handed, but had always used both hands, except when writing. My hand often cramps up, so I started using my left one when doing suduko puzzles. I began drawing funny little people and critters on the side of the pages. They're actually not bad, just unusual. So don't give up, you just have to find what will bring out your creative side.

With my brother's help I am collecting a portfolio to put on my 360. I paint in watercolors and acrylics. I'm trying to master a new puter and a digital camera that has a manual the size of a phone book. It will take a couple of months to get it all together.

Nice to hear that Sid also plays guitar. If you're ever in L.A. we'll have to have a jam session. I no longer enjoy performing but do occasionally get together with a bunch of folks who play songs from the 70's over a few drinks while watching the sun set on the Pacific Ocean.

There was a time when I could do almost anything artistic: Oil painting (sea scapes were my speciality), Watercolor...love that medium, Charcoal (nudes, etc.), pastels (love pastels.) Pottery...could throw with the best of them. Music: played piano well, loved my Martin D18 guitar. But, I am of a nature that when I see that I have "mastered" an art form, I become bored and move on. Today, I am trying to master the art of business...I have a lot to learn, but have learned much, especially about Interenet business, and that IS an art form. Love and peace, Goldwing

Drawing, painting & photography were my favorites. I also played guitar, but never took it seriously enough to become very good at it. Like Goldwing, reality of earning a living took over (in my case) & now that I'm out on disability, I have the time to devote to it again, but not the motivation yet. I don't like where photography has gone. I had a Pentax with different lenses & filters, but at the end of the roll, what you got is what you got. Now people edit their pictures on the computer. To me, that feels like cheating. I guess I'll stick to drawing & painting.

I would love to be creative! I can do a few little things, and I can draw stick people and stick dogs. I can't draw a straight line even if I use a ruler. This year for Halloween I'm glittering a few pumpkins (spread a layer of thinned out Elmer's glue on the pumpkin and sprinkle orange glitter) and using my drill for the jack o lanterns (drill a big hole in the bottom to clean out the inside stuff then use a smaller drill bit, drill holes in random patterns, put a candle inside and there you go!).

Yes, I tend to be very artistic. I have been an interior decorator for 27 years. I enjoy painting, sewing, writing and making babies! (lol)

Recently, I have started making these reborn dolls for a second career. Who would have thought? It was the one artform in which I found to be very satisfying! I love taking a doll mold and making it come to life. In the end, it looks and feels so very real that I am amazed as well!

Most people think my true talent lies in my writing and creativity in home decor. That is their opinion. I can tell you that I love these but, I am enjoying making these look-a-like babies!!

A Second childhood thing?? LOL

I enjoy making dried flower arrangements. I'm close to the woods, so this time of year I usually go out with my grand daughter and we cut things to put into an arrangement. She's become very creative in finding things to add to the arrangement. Most of what we do is just self-taught.
