No the wildfires are mostly a natural event. Though with wiser land use rules maybe less homes would have been destroyed.

Lucky there are plenty of Republican voters in the San Diego area so in the end everything will be alright. I mean it won't be a disaster like New Orleans -if there where only more Republicans in the Crescent City things would have turned out differently.

Yes the drought over the last 2 years has dried the "bush" and other growth in the area. So with no rain, heavy dried coverage, which is optimal for a fire, I guess you can blame dried brush and bush.

3rd or 4th time this question has been asked today. Yes, Congress spent the biggest part of the day yesterday condemning Bush for the wildfires for everything from not enforcing the laws that had been enacted to remove the brush, to not doing anything about global warming, and for having too many National Gaurds troops and equipment in Iraq so that they weren't available to fight the fires.

No, but if some of our top dogs would do something to prevent it, it would help. Something like a pipeline going from the areas that have heavy rainfall to the dry areas with sprinklers installed to use when the air is hot, dry and windy.
Or, since California is so close to the ocean, pipelines from there. Just a novice, but there should be something they could do. I know, dumb idea. Oh well....

Hey Steve, Do you remember when Clinton finally left office............. Check your math again.

As for the fires, well, Bush is a greedy oil tycoon so he set the fires to get more people to drive while evacuating increasing the damand for fuel which will increase the demand for oil making him a wealthier man....................... Just watch someone will come up with an answer just like this but really believe it is true.

I haven't heard Mr. bush is to blame for these fires. But I'm sure some cons will find a way to blame Clinton's bj for them.

Let me be the first.

George Bush started the wildfires near San Diego and he doesn't care about black people.

I do believe he is a dick and hurts alot of people, but if he now has the ability to control the weather we really have something to worry about.
I think fortunately for the people of California many celebrities are losing their houses as well, so that means things will get taken care of alot faster if it was just "normal" people's houses burning down. Celebrities get all the attention, which tends to get the ball rolling with disaster relief.
