First of all, Jacques Lemaire uses a system that was first developed and perfected by Scotty Bowman.
Secondly, most NHL owners and GMs feel that the "Left Wing Lock" as the system is properly called has destroyed the game. Hence the reason for removing the red line, tighter jerseys, increased penalty calls, etc.
The main difference between what Scotty Bowman created while coach of Montreal in the 70s and what Jacques Lemaire has utilized as coach of the Devils and Wild is that Montreal had a far better defence to offence transition than the Devils or Wild had.
The other difference is that Montreal rarely used it due to their effectiveness on offence (no need to play defence when you have the puck 45 minutes a game) while the Devils and Wild rely heavily on it.

Fellow Minnesotan here, Lemaire and the Wild are fine. We are the State of Hockey and seens how we pack the XCEL every single game since its opening I'd say hockey fans are ok with the brand of hockey being played. What ruined the game is absolutely horrible marketing decisions like shunning ESPN and signing on with VS. Hockey in no way needs to have combined 10 goals every game to be entertaining and I personally think its awesome if at the end of the game and its a tight 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 type score. Its not that we play trap style they have a problem with, its that we play D at all. They want allstar game scores every game. What a joke.

To answer your question, No. If he is the worst thing for hockey, then why do the Wild have a 7-1 record?
Right now they are the best in the NHL. They are better than the Penguins with Crosby!!!!!!
So, I would say the Jacques Lemaire is not bad for hockey one bit.

The Gretzky commerce become not the worst concern to take place to hockey. The commerce got here approximately by way of fact Gretzky become p-whipped. The worst concern become the NHL moving communities and increasing to places like Phoenix, Columbus, Miami, and Nashville. There are too many communities interior the NHL, and specific cities do not in all risk deserve communities, in keeping with fan help, and/or skill to coach a income.

Nope, Bettman the moron is the worst thing to happen to hockey. If the NHL cared about its fans Bettman would have been fired so long ago its not funny. What kind of moron lets their sport miss a whole year of playing due to stupidity and stubbornness anyway?

The worst thing that happened to (Canadian) hockey originally was - Peter Pocklington - remember THE trade?
Then there was that whole Lindross not playing for Quebec thing.
Now the worst thing for Hockey is that height disadvantaged creep named Gary.

I'd rather see a tight game than 7-4 any day. Just like in football there can be great tension with defensive dominance.

No. Alexi Yashin took that role years ago, followed by Gretzky coaching.
