OK, I had a person today at work tell me, why when people get old do they have that old people smell! I of course being the smooth classy guy that I am, asked him, what the hell are you doing going around smelling old people for!
What do you think, do old peple smell, please be nice lol?

One person said that old peple smell like moth balls.....I never knew moths had balls!

Have you noticed that peple like holeeyc come onto sites like this and swear and insult people, but they do not have the GUTS, to put down their e-mail so you can respond, real cowards!

In my line of work I come across a lot of different ages of people. Yes, some older folks have a smell to them, but it's usually due to a medical cream or if it's an old lady, heavy perfume. It's not a terrible smell, just overpowering at times.

there are several reasons why an older person might smell....mothballs, incontinence problem(sh*t happens when you get old) over kill with the perfume....maybe you had a jitter when applying and a little too much spilled out.... but regardless if old people smell i try not to make a big deal...I dotn want them to be depressed adn self-concious. they've live long productive lives and as they get older they go from being independant to dependant again...and all their friends are dying around them..it sad.. :( one of their biggest fears is a nursing home...because they know that TOO MANY kids drop their parents off at the old folks home and never visit....

i work with most elderly people and they usually have a smell i hate to say it but they are musty and stale smelling i mean just like a old smell some wear way to much colonge or perfume to cover it up but that makes it worse i am not saying every old person has this smell but the majority do

I haven't run into any smelly old folks. Some of those, classy 20-30 somethings on the other hand...

Yes. Some old people DO smell. I think they don't bathe as often because they aren't up to it or don't give a rip. Or they don't do laundry as often. I am determined not to be one of those!

My Grandma used to smell of freshly baked muffins, and my grandad- smelly fish, but He Was a Fishmonger,lol. love.jo.xx

They use Moth Balls in their closets and this scent goes on their clothes allot.

old people smell of lavender and rose soap the ones that don't smell of cat wee. its not that i go around smelling them but when they pass their odour lingers
