OK. So I am a sophomore and I have a few friends. I am worried about my grades but also want time to practice my instruments. I can't stop procrastinating though. It gets easier once I start working but I do this to everything. In the morning I wake up late because I want more time to sleep because of staying up al night finishing homework. I can do it but I dont have a drive until it is the last minut.
I also have a problem with rationalizing. I say that I will do it later or that I can cut the time I need because I can do it in the morning. Things like that are really hurting me.
Please help me with this. I do this with everything. Chores, homework, practicing, and I am even doing it now by going on the computer. Please Help with both problems.
Note: Be serious, be respectful, and please only give answers that have worked for you or someone else. My internet doesn't connect quickly so once it is on I keep it on so that I can go on when I need to, so dont say turn it off.

Make out a daily schedule (6am, wake up, eat breakfast; 6:30am, take a shower, 7am, feed the dog and take out the trash; 7:30am, leave for school; and so on). As you do each scheduled activity, check it off of your list. By the end of the day, you'll fell like you've actually accomplished something, instead of wasting time.
STICK TO YOUR SCHEDULE until you get into a routine and don't need it anymore.

Hi. why not write out a timetable of what you need to be doing say..2 hour homework.1/2 an hour washing up an hour cleaning and do this for every day .it sounds like you need and work better with a set routine so (you will still have computer time) do that now while you are not doing too much else turn your screen off but leave the p.c on it will be fine on stand by, you can go back to it anytime . i hope this is of some help to you and good luck xx

Procratination is a tough thing to overcome. It will take will power. You said that you feel good once you are doing it. Try thinking about that feeling when you should be starting...

It is important to prioritize your activities and do what's required first, and optional later.
I have found that I do better when I make a list and cross things off as I finish.
Stop rationalizing! You have to take control and don't let things control you.
