Just looking for some suggestions so I can have a better night's rest.

My wife and I figured out that I usually snore when I have a respiratory problem (allergies, cold, etc) or if I'm extremely exhausted. Dehydration seems to play a key role in to as does obesity.

For the allergies or cold, you'll have to find a medication that helps him get over that.

For the exhaustion, try getting him to get more rest or better rest. Maybe change up the pillows, flip your mattress, get a memory foam cover, give him a back massage occassionally.

Also, get him to drink more clear liquids. Water, juice, tea etc.

My wife rubs my chest when I snore at night and that seems to stop me temporarily, but with the changes I mentioned, I don't snore much anymore.

Also, unless he has a physical abnormality, those nose strips and other devices only serve to pacify a problem. I believe it's better to get to the root of the problem, than to just put a bandaid on it.

I shall relate an incident from a country from middle east. A man got married with a very beautiful young lady. She had the habit of snoring. The family of the girl hid this fact from the bridegroom's family. Few days after the marriage the husband filed a divorce suit on the basis of this snoring. The wife suggested to the judge a solution to arrive at a compromise. She suggested that she will sleep during the day when the husband is away at work and that she will not sleep or snore in the night. The judge, the husband, the families and advocates, all agreed to this solution. And then they lived happily thereafter. This story must be true because I read it as a news item in a prestigious newspaper. I forgot which newspaper. I had a paper clipping. That too I lost. That is another story. Another time.

Well, mine snores when he's not feeling well or he's over tired, So, I've been getting him to go to bed a bit earlier, and that seems to make a world of difference in the snoring department.

Try those breathe right nasal strips. They work pretty well for most people that snore. If that doesn't work, there's a throat spray that's supposed to keep the palat moist and prevent snoring. Good luck!

I find that if my husband is snoring and laying on his back, it is because he is not breathing good, so I make him roll over onto his side, and adjust his pillow (to my liking) so that his head is straight on the pillow, not too far forward or back and that there is ample enough pillow to provide proper spacing between in neck and shoulder (so his shoulder isn't shoved into his neck). This works every time. Now go get a good night's rest for once.

Wake him up for some late night loving. After you're done, you will already be fast asleep when he's in a deep enough sleep to start snoring again.

I had to laugh at this one. Hubby snores LOUDLY! The first few months of marriage I would cover his nostrils with my fingertips, then that took too much energy, so I would place a pillow on his face (lightly), that was just mean of me, and I would eventually get so annoyed I would push him with my feet to the other side of the bed (He fell off once oops). He finally found out about what I had been doing (bad wifey), and we agreed that now when he snores I can wake him up and make him turn to the side facing away from me. If all else fails, a shot of tequila for me will always knock me out.

My boyfriend likes to snuggle when we sleep. However, he snores very loudly in my ear. So while he is sleeping well, I am wide awake. To solve this little problem, I nudge him over on to his side with his back to me and put my arms around him. This way we both get to sleep.

I wore earplugs and he started wearing the breathe right nasal strips and using they spray...It helped for a little while but he eventually quit using them and I also got used to it..now I have to have him snoring right beside me to go to sleep.

I have tried blowing up his nose, and also putting a pillow over his face so he stops breathing for just a second. But you have to be careful with this one- if you hold thepillow down too long he will wake up and know what you are doing!
