OFF WITH THEIR THUMBS

They get shot out for a variety of reasons. I think most often because the person asking the question has a preconceived answer and doesn't want to hear other opinions. After that there is a posse that seems to be growing who don't like to be told that questions are in the wrong category and really don't give much more advice other than "re post in where you might get better answers." Some of us have "followings" who just want to TD everything we write no matter how well versed. A while back I was guilty of the "automatic TD" when I hovered over the icon and my mouse seemed to auto click. I edited my answer with an apology to the answerer. (Which I recall was an excellent response.) In general I avoid the TU/TD, but am much more likely to go thumbs up ... Very rarely do I employ Caesar's "kill the gladiator" pose.
