I am sure there have been many that tried, but in the end they run out of funding. So they get jobs to pay for the movement... but can no longer participate because they are now employed.
Nothing in this world is free..... If you need a job, go get one.

Depends on the era. The great depression is one. After it happened the reform for a set minimum wage was put in place as well as the unemployment security commission about 10 yrs after minimum wage inforced.
In the early 1990's unemployment was on the rise with trade from other countries and American companies moving over seas to save money. The same thing happened during the early 70's as well at the end of the vietnam war and the gas crisis.
That is all I can remember at the moment.

Well, if you say no, then how do you categorize The New Deal during the depression??? Didn't people everywhere across the U.S.A. yell and scream that the President and the government should help them back up on their feet?
Maybe I don't understand your question completely, but that's the only time so many unemployed people collectively got together to do something.

It would get squashed. For one we don't have a high un-employment rate. Two the employed would crush you. Not only are there more people employed but get this we are also motivated and get the job done.
