Iraqi citizens pointing the way to Al-Qaeda cells. WOW!!! Seems as though Bush was right about the surge. GO BUSH!!! GO REPUBLICANS!!!! Kick Hillary to the side. NOW, we can begin to figure out how to get our guys and ladies back home and give Iraq back a safe country. It's encouraging, no doubt. But don't get too excited. A lot can change between now and the next election, and there are STILL systematic executions of Iraqi civilians going on, failing infrastructure, and a weak central government. Fewer troop deaths does not equate to fewer deaths in general. Until all those things are resolved, this war is far from over. It is a little too early to start talking about bringing the troops back home and giving them a safe country.

Don't get me wrong! A decline in soldier deaths is a positive. We'll see what happens.

I hope that happens too! It will take some time to see if that is possible, but I always thought something like the surge needed to happen. It just should have happened a long time ago. 1,500 terrorists a month either captured or killed. I think most of them have been captured in a pinewood box, six feet under.
