Not A thru D
The reason, we needed a scape goat.
Plus, we needed a place to call a success
What I find totally corrupt with the people who say we are fighting the war over there, instead of here, is we USED a country to fight our own war. In affect, we killed thousands for our own moralistic crusade and to save our own butts. Pretty much murdered thousands for God, Apple Pie and the Fat Lady without any regard to the other side, the truth, or even how the governments we support keeps their own people down.
How screwed up is that?
Peace

How is it about oil?
America may want oil, but Iraq even at full capacity was never a major supplier to the US. The US gets most of its oil from Canada and Venezuela. Even Nigeria supplies more oil to America than Iraq ever did.
At peak sustainable production levels, Iraq produces about $80bn annually, though in post-Kuwait invasion years, it's been about a tenth of that. The US Congress is facing annual war costs of up to $100bn. And even at current highs of around $80 a barrel, the cost of the war is such that it would have been cheaper just to buy all the oil Iraq could produce.

We were attacked by terrorists on 9/11 and wanted to make sure it didn't happen again.
People wanted Bush to prevent further attacks.
Democrats criticized him for not "connecting the dots" when it suited their purposes.

e) Neocons hijacked it, conning the American people that Iraq was complicit in 9/11 and had a working relationship with Al Qaeda. Their REAL purpose was to use US muscle to fight Israel's enemies for her. How did that work out? Israel any better off for it?

E. It didn't. Some people are too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time so they must think of them as the same thing. Bush has tried to educate these people but they are just too stupid.
