I went to traffic court this morning. (Reasons I rather not discuss) Any who, while I was there I noticed that at least HALF or not more of the people in court were illegal immigrants. Most of them were pulled over for not having a license and driving without insurance. What cracked me up was: The judge called one man up and told him that he was charged with driving without a license and auto insurance, and then the judge asked him if he got those things corrected and asked him if he had a license. The guy said "No but in Mexico I do" The judge got furious and said " NO! Do you have a California license?" Obviously, he didn't and the judge slapped a big fine of 600 bucks for no license and no auto insurance. What's sad is that MOST people in the traffic court were in the same predicament like this guy!
I was wondering why the judge can't hand them over to ICE?
What are your thoughts?

The weird thing is, if you get pulled over and the the cops find out you are driving without a license, they are suppose to impound your car and arrest you. I guess, that's probably how some people knew when to go to traffic court.

Butthead, DID I SAY that they were ALL MEXICAN?! NO! I used one example. I never said that all Mexicans were illegals. Read the post again. Why is it when someone points out something, they are labeled as racist. There is NO racial intention behind my post.

My sister, a lawyer in Indiana said that ALL of the cases (yes, ALL, I thought she was exaggerating but NO) she has involving... lets call them "illegal immigrants" involve the individuals being accused of identity theft. So, some even may SEEM to be legal, but some (not all of COURSE) are stealing identities and just blatantly raping the American judicial system. That is concerning. I believe in the melting pot for all people, but it must be done legally.
Why can't the judge hand them over... be assured, he is "forwarding" their cases. Be assured.

this guy does have recourse. plenty of people come to this country and use their license from their home country. it is legal under the law. the insurance is another matter entirely. ICE is responsible for immigration matters, not local authorities. enforcing immigration could literally bankrupt a local community. if the judge turns one in, he has to turn them all in, he'd spend more time on the phone to ICE then he would doing the job he was either elected or appointed to do.
curious why all the illegal aliens showed up for court. curious why ICE doesn't have someone assigned to this place. the whole immigration issue is all screwed up.

Good for that judge; I'd be furious too. And just think, they are bringing with them a "something for nothing" mentality. Sadly, that judge's hand are probably tied and the hefty fine is all he/she can do....good luck collecting it, they'll probably disappear back to Mexico for awhile, but YOU or I on the other hand would be stuck.

should and would are 2 different things. your illegal friend probably drove to the courthouse and then drove himself home, and will probably CONTINUE to drive w/o a license.
not to mention, we all know he will never pay that $600. the authorities won't even be able to arrest him, because he has no documents for an address!

Send them over to Irving TX where the policy is to hold all illegal aliens stopped or arrested for any broken laws for deportation!
Shouldn't it be that way in all US cities?

Anyone identified as being in America illegally is a criminal and should be taken into custody, have all of their belongings confiscated, and be thrown out of the country. Second offense, death.

And the even funnier part is that he probably got the same punishment as a citizen would have gotten...

Because they are from Mexico...they are illegal? And EVERY Mexican in the room was illegal. I know there are a lot of Mexicans in Cali, but they're not all illegal.
I can't believe a person of color would approve of racial profiling.
