If he gets a degree in Criminal Justice, or some other police related field, alot of times he can get a job right away with a police station. And the Police station will pay for him to go to the Police Academy.

Im not sure the state your in. But, most even if reported will not press charges if the minor(s) are over 16 and 1/2. Also, if the age gap is within a few years. I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds like my is worried about getting in trouble for her daughters lack of attendance. Due to not comprehending the situation. I would say until the air is clear do tell the kids (if they are already) not to have "sexual contact" with each other for a little while. Dont leave hickeys and be seen walking down the street kissing and what not. If accusation are made she can deny it, if they're relationship doesn't have that factor in it. Do like you plan and speak with the school

My brother was in the Army, as so as he got out, he signed up in the Police Academy. The thing is, since he was still active military reserve he skipped the whole 6 month waiting period and started in the academy immediately after the applied. It always helps if that person has military background.

Hope this helps :)

If he wants to be a police officer, then he needs to go to the Police Academy. The military is completely different.

Here is the link for the MN Police Academy

Is there a police academy in your area? College could help greatly, especially if he wants to be a detective. I'd talk to someone in the local department for some direction. They might know of a academy or if he goes to college, a scholarship he could apply for.

Just tell him this: Police officers are not above the law.

If he wants to be a police officer in the military, then have him join the Air Force.

If he wants to be a police officer as a civilian, he will have to wait until he is 21 years old.

For now, he should go to college and study criminal justsice or forensics, stay in shape, etc. He will have to go through a very competitive screening process, ie. oral exam, lie detector test, etc. He needs to stay out of trouble and educate himself and when he turns 21 he can apply.

hi, if he wants to be a police officer there are several choices. personally i would not suggest military at this time due to the war. i wouldnt want to chance being sent to iraq. there are many universities that offer criminal justice courses, all you need for police work is an associates degree. i am studying this online. you graduate in one year. check into the various online schools if you choose to go this route. make sure they are an accredited school so that your grades and courses count. it is a very interesting field. AIU is a great school.

licensure of peace officers in MN is covered by peace officers standards and training, as it is in most states. Here is a link to most frequently asked questions regarding licensure. Good luck!!

Note: the link above is to MINNEAPOLIS police academy. NOT for employment elsewhere in the state.

In NY all police officers must have a degree in law enforcement and it is also civil service so they must past a written test and physical test. I would suggest he speak with local officers and find out the requirements. Most officers are willing to answer questions.

How exciting! I wanted to be a policeman when I was, well 12. I would recommend college first (or Army), and if he still wants to go, let him go!
