Last night I dreamt my friend who died just over a year ago was still alive and the dream was a happy one and when I woke up I felt no sadness. I thought it was a weird dream but also very comforting

Sounds healthy to me. The subconscious remembers every piece of data it has ever encountered. A dream that moves you passed the grief and into acceptance and peace can only be a good thing. Just go with it.

Was your friend very close to you?May be you don't know but on a subconscious level those things or people who are no longer there in the present remain there forever we dream what we want you want your friend to be happy where ever he is and that's what you saw.Needless to say you are a very good friend.

This is not my area of expertise, but I have heard that this is a form of communication from the person that has passed. This friend wants you to know that he/she is in a good place and is happy so that you will not worry.

I think I read this in "Talking to Heaven: A Medium's Message of Life After Death By James Van Praagh"

It is normal. And you should be happy that your friend came to your dreams and let you know that she or he is OK and happy. My father passed away one year ago and I just dreamed about him, he hugged me and kiss me and told me how much he loved me. And it was comforting because I have some issues with him and always thought that he loved more my younger sister and thru my dream he came just to tell me that I always have his love and care for me. At least we can say that we have had a "communication" with them and now we know that they are OK. God Bless you.

That might have been her way of telling she is happy and ok. My grandmother came to me in a dream once a week after she passed. All that happened was she gave me a hug. I woke up and i wasn't sad she was gone anymore. People tell me that is their way of helping you to let go.
And i believe it!

I think it's great... you must have accepted the friend's death by this point. Having a comforting dream is reassuring. You are holding the good memories close to your heart.

take care.

I think thats great dont worry about it. Our loved ones are always as close as our own hearts. I do believe in spirits and angels and think its possible your friend just wanted you to know they are in a better place and be happy for them.

yes, it's normal--it might be a message from them telling you they're happy, and they wanted you to know.
