I can understand the standard tape1/16,1/8, even the 32, but confused about the metric is there a simple way to learn

The metric measuring tape is graduated in meters, centimeters, and millimeters. Keep in mind centimeters are hundredths of a meter, and millimeters are tenths of a centimeter, or thousandths of a meter.

It is much simpler - go by cm and m !
