I felt like I had just sat through a two hour long car commercial. The special effects were great, no argument there, but most of the action sequences were confusing and blurry. It was a let down to some fans of the original because the cars weren't even the same. It was okay to see, better on the big screen than on a TV, but I don't think I'll watch it again.

I went in with low expectations, and the movie turned out to be better than I was expecting. I didn't like the idea that the machines could change into anything they wanted. That defeats the whole point of mechanical transformation.

I did like the fact that the bad guy was a combat plane instead of some silly gun, and I won't lie - I enjoyed watching Megan Fox.

NO I thought it was great. It was the only movie I saw in a long time that people actually clapped at the end. Not since the 80's when I saw Ghost Busters and the whole audience got up and was cheering and singing the song. You don't get that anymore

I absolutely loved it, the storyline was great and the special effects were fantastic. As a fan from early childhood I loved the way the story related to present day.

Me, my wife, and the guy I share an office with all were disappointed.
My wife and I both left the theater feeling ashamed to be human.

Edit: I love how nearly everyone who loved the movie defends it with "it had great special effects!" Special effects alone do not make a movie good.

Well, since it was marketed as "Michael Bay's Transformers", how could it be anything but?

The guy's a complete tool of a director.

If, say, Bryan Singer had done it then you would have had a completely different film.

I could'nt disagree more, it was great!
The effects were great, the storyline was good, and the kid was perfect. Also the girl was hot...

What more could you want?
maybe you just aren't a big transformers fan?

What did you expect to see?

No. I just watched it today. Although it was way too long--after an hour and a half, we /just/ got to the part where Sam meets everyone. Seriously.

No way...It was a fantastic movie and they did a great job. I am pretty sure only those who originally grew up with the cartoon when it was created back in 1984 can truely appreciate what a great job they did with the special effects.

I did, I thought it was terrible. I can't believe they rated it PG-13, it seamed to be geared towards 10 year olds or adults with a 10 year old maturity level. This movie was not advertised as a children's movie.
