I am not talking hockey, either.
Is there a checklist, where the more your politics agree with the right, or left, the more conserv or liberal you are?
Or does it have to do with how you refer to the other side? Those that just throw insults toward the other side are considered more right/left wing than those that don't??
Please Help.

Thank You, As Always!!

Okay, as an "evil conservative" I must say that (to me) a:

Right winger is a person who is for "my country right or wrong," Christianty yes & all others no, "nuke them all," "No meskins in my town!...", all Democrats & liberals are traitors to this great country! etc.

Left winger is a person who believes "America is the cause of the world's problems," Che Guevarra was a hero, "we don't need no sticking ID to vote!" free speech is wonderful as long as you attack Christianity & America government (but only the Republican side of government) ,etc.

As you can see, both sides of the fence have their share of morons. It is up to the pragmatics to pull the country together. I'd love to see a McCain/Lieberman ticket. Here are two guys who have served their parties well and were both attacked by their people for actually looking at what the other side was saying.

The RNC is in a shambles and the DNC has been highjacked by George Soros & MoveOn. Someone needs to tell them both that enough is enough.

I'm as Right Wing as it comes on some stuff, but I can also be Left Wing on a few issues The strong will, and should be the ones to survive... Disagreed, The strong should protect the weak IMO. I believe in the golden rule: the ones with the gold make all the rules Vehemently disagreed. I despise the rich. People need to pull themselves up by their own bootstrap, and if they can't, it's pretty much themselves that are to blame.. Agreed up to a point. However if a person is truly too disabled to work they should be supported. People (And Countries) who have the wealth and power to do what they want pretty much can and should Vehemently Disagreed. That sounds like an argument Hitler would have used. The US is pretty much right about everything even when it isn't. Disagreed. I own up to America's mistakes. But I think that there is way too much America bashing. And it gets on My nerves. Patriotism carries the obligation not to protest. Over My dead body maybe. Our leaders generally know what they're doing Not since Reagan they haven't Not all Americans really are Americans I'd agree with that statement. Your Welcome. Great Q Ray

I believe the main difference is that people should be treated as individuals. People who are self-reliant don't need anyone to hold them up. Therefore there is more self respect.
I am not speaking of the people who through no fault lf their own, are unable to work, or function as others, such as the disabled, mentally and physically, the elderly, and disadvantaged children, or to give temporary assistance if a person has difficulties.
We have boundless opportunities in this country. We are the richest country in the world. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a person having initiative and earning wealth. These are the strengths of our ancestors.

There are those who feel that the hard working should take care of those who are able to work, get an education, and succeed but choose not to. They call these entitlements and will argue this is constitutionally right.
A Conservative believes in a hand up.
A Liberal believes in a hand out.
This is where the differences lie.

A right winger believes in God, equal opportunity, personal responsibility, believes justice is being hard on criminals and soft on victims, believes art should be uplifting, believes children should be protected from adult things, believes in traditional marriage, believes that homosexuals should not be discriminated against even though they are sexually disoriented, unborn babies are alive and deserve to live, capital punishment is a necessary deterrant, the Founding Fathers were the greatest group of people ever gathered and created a system superior to all others.

Left wingers, may or may not believe in God, believe not in equal oportunity but in equal results, believe justice is treating criminals to every possible advantage while the victims are of little concern, believe art is anything that they want to call art and deserves to be susidized by the taxpayer, want to sexualize children, believe marriage can be reinterpreted to include whomever they want to marry, believe homosexuality is equal to if not superior to heterosexuality and should be equally encouraged, believe homosexuals are a protected class of people, beileve unborn babies are of no consequence unless the mother thinks they are, believe that babies are not alive until after the head is exposed outside of the mother, capital punishment is cruel and unusual, believe the Founding Fathers were a bunch of worthless, racist old white guys and believe our system is seriously flawed and should be far more socialist in nature.

I hope this helps define the two for you.

According to Liberals, when you support, and love your country, you're a right-winger (except that's not their definition, it's, You aren't against your country like them)

According to a Conservative, if you're an idiot, you're a left-winger.

This is a forum where people can vent, and that's good. No physical harm can be done, one party to another, like when the Libs wanted very badly to hurt Condoleeza Rice, and Karl Rove at Columbia, and American Universities.

When your beliefs for one or two hot button issues blinds you so much that you cannot even discuss anything because the other person must be ignorant if they don't agree with you. Discussing abortion or gun control will end the discussion right away. If you are pro life, you are trash or if pro social programs, you ar an idiot. You are so radical you will vote for someone that you know will probably screw up your life over one issue.

A RIGHT WINGER SUPPORTS MOST OF THE POSITIONS OF THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT. AN EXTREME LEFT WINGER IS JUST THE OPPOSITE. HE OFTEN WILL OPPOSE EVERYTHING THAT THE COUNTRY TRIES TO DO.

There are crooks, liars, and thieves in both camps. There are "extreme" lefties and righties. These radicals are what we moderates should be restricting and as currently are screwing up everything they touch!
