I'm only 15, so in advance I appologise for being slightly narrow minded, but I really don't see the point of us staying in the EU. I know whenever anyone thinks of immigration on saying the word 'EU,' but its true - for example house prices are rising incredibly. If you allow too many people to come, theres more demand i.e. price goes up.

I'm not some right wing extremist here, but I want to hear your views. Please can you outline the reasons why we should and shouldnt stay in the EU,

Thanks,

PS: please just dont leave ignorant comments without reasoning - I want to know both sides of the bigger picture so try to be objective!!!

The EU is our biggest customer for manufacturing. Hundreds of thousands of jobs in the UK depend on trading within the EU.

Most arguments against it seem to be based simply on the idea of not liking being ruled by Europe. If they saw how much unemployment and devistation to the ecomony by a withdrawal, they would soon chagne their mind.

As for staying 'British', countries like Spain, Greece, France, Italy etc etc have all adoted the Euro and nothing has changed for them, they are still the same countries they always were.

The EU is now becoming a dictatorship. The original idea, the one that the country was sold, was a trading block where goods could move about easily. However the career politicians have now hijacked this and are hell bent on making a super state where they are immune from any electors. With now 25 states in and the majority being from Eastern Europe, our completely neutered MEP's can now say that they can do nothing in a majority vote. So we and no doubt the other longer members will be paying for the East and unable to stop the money being drained away. This means that our contribution will be forced to rise to enable the gravy train in Brussels to continue. So the best thing you can do is to keep in mind that at the next election, if Brown goes full term, you may be able to vote. So do not under any circumstances vote Labour unless you want England in particular and the UK in general to be fleeced by Brussels.

Actually the UK is a net exporter of people. More people emigrate from the UK than immigrate to it. Those that do immigrate to the UK from other EU countries do so to work for a few years and therefore rent.

All immigration from Non-EU countries is decided upon by the national government not at EU level.

The EU also accounts for more than half of all exports for the UK and similar amount of imports.

Also there is the fact that the EU is bringing countries that were at war with each other closer and war is damn near impossible at this stage even though the last most horrific one only ended just over 60 years ago.

A country can becomes rich when it trades with other countries. We would do most of our trading with Europe even if we were in the EU or independent.

The EU market is the biggest in the world. But every market in the world has rules, at the moment Britain has a say in these rules when they are set. Having a say in these rules is very important as it allows us to influence the rules so they don't act against our interests. Over time Britain would lose more and more money if we were outside the EU as our companies would not have access to the European market on a fair and equal basis.

The main reason for the EU forming was to create political unity in Europe after the devastation of 2 world wars. In theory it's a great idea and was sold to the British public as a trading agreement where redtape was lifted and we could all buy and sell pruduce easier. In my opinon, the whole project has been hijacked by the far left and we are on the verge of becoming a communist superstate run by unaccountable beurocrats who dictate our lives without fear of losing office. It's refreshing to see a 15 year old taking an interest and I think you're quite right to be concerned about the future of the UK with in the confines of a European superstate, a superstate that Gordon Brown, another unelected beurocrat with no mandate to govern, has just signed away further control to Europe, despite his government promising in a general election manifesto to hold a referandum on the subject before signing. True democracy in this country has gone !!!

For nearly a thousand years, all was conflict and war in Europe. There are so many wars to remember, it makes history hard to learn. The EU is a big step forward. As long as the nations of Europe try to get along in an organized group, there should be no war between them. I think it's great!

Look at how well the EU currency is doing. Many countries are considering taking their reserves out of US dollars and putting them into euros That is an indication of how successful the EU is, since it is primarily a trade organization. Look at how much the fringe nations want to belong. That means it is successful. The EU is one of the best things that has happened to Europe, and the United States is quite jealous of that. If Britain adopted the euro, the US dollar would fast lose its status as the currency of choice.

Let me give it to you from a completely different perspective. I live in a very prosperous country in the EU. When my country was worse off than it is now, we benefitted from EU funding for major projects like infrastructure and education. The economy in every country goes in cycles and it's always nice to have a bit of back up and support if needed. There's lots of other reasons but this is the one that springs to mind right now.

I sort of agree with you on the fact that we should not be over there. However if we don't stop the crap in other places rather than just in our own home then it is more likely to spill over into our country. This would be harder to deal with here than in another country. As far as the point that you made about letting too many people in our country I back you up 100% on that thought.
PS. even though you are only 15 thanks for that great point of view.

this style of sturdy question. i imagine you've gotten to commence emailing banks in another u . s . a . and asking. although, i imagine it really is totally not likely that they'll enable a private loan even as your address is outdoors the rustic, because they would not have jurisdiction in England, do you need to refuse to pay it again. yet there is continually strategies round this. your spectacular option is to honestly contact each and every monetary employer for my area and spot what they ought to assert. i ought to assert, hats off to you for questioning about this. sturdy success! EDIT - a fashion round this, for instance, should be to honestly employ a property in another u . s . a ., and then ask for funds declaring you need to go with to make investments in another u . s . a .. once again, sturdy success!

Belonging to the EU isnt about immigration, true it makes immigration easier but that also goes for emigration. Think of all those people that have second homes in Spain.
I think the UK can benefit from the different ideas that come from Europe.
Also the rest of Europe are very solid they have similar ideas and if we do not embrace Europe we run the risk of being shunned but a massive power.
Its also great for the EURO i would love to see the euro over here it would be so simple when you travel. I am very pro europe and I believe if we adopted a more european idea it can only do us good
