It would be a toss up between Star Wars and the Atari 2600 game system.I'm not sure exactly when that Atari came out but it was around that era sometime i think,but even if it was invented earlier,we would have still been playing with it in the 80's all day looooonnnggg!!

In 1980 I was also 5 years old. The dopest toy to me at the time was Barbies and Cabbage Patch Dolls.

I turned 5 in 1979 - and I don't really remember the hottest toy out @ that time. But I remember that Christmas I got my 1st real bike. No training wheels & no silly banana seats. It was yellow w/ a horn & streamers coming out of the handle bars. You couldn't tell me NOTHING!!! :P

That was 1988..Playdough and Lightbright (that toy where you get the little pegs with different colors and the toy has holes in it, and you can create things and as you put the pegs in they light up)..god, I used to love that toy..

Wait are you kidding me? That for me was wow...1966!!! All I remember is getting a new bike and we were too poor to have any regular toys! We had to make do!
