If you witness someone committing a crime and fail to report it, then you are aiding and abeting the criminal. Besides, you have to live with your conscience. Could you really let it go and never think about it again if you didn't report it?

The higher prices we pay in the store are not only due to inflation but also to cover the losses that the stores take every time someone steals something. So the next time you see someone stealing something, remember they are essentially stealing from you as well. Their stealing is causing you to pay a higher price for your goods.

I would let them go. Trust me... the money the stores spend on security. They already know who's stealing. And while you are watching the person stealing, chances are, they are watching to see if YOU are stealing! Let them do there job. What ever is being lifted out of these stores are going to be written off at as "loses". They need write offs too so the company can slip by on a few taxes themselves. PLEASE BELIEVE ME!!

Probably nark them. That's once of the reasons prices are so high.

Not unless it was my job to stop them. Why would I get myself caught up in another person's business? If I pay for my own sh*t, or steal without having some good for nothin rat see, I don't have to worry about anybody else.

Don't mistake rat for whiste blower. Whistle blowers are courageous and stand up because it's the right thing to do. Rat's are looking to get a pat on the head and a wedge of gouda

It would depend, if someone was stealing something they needed like food or medicine I'd offer to buy them some, if their taking something else, like a CD, DVD, clothes, they'd be busted, I'm sick of paying for others stuff and that's what happens when people steal, the store ups their prices to cover thefts.

The great question of ethics. The right thing to do is to tell on him and let him pay for his mistake. A lesson learned now will probably save him from future mistakes that can have much harsher consequences.

if they looking like they are vaguely in need of it...let them carry on....at least unless you are directly involved... as a hostage or party... refuse active participation....
if its like some super rich person, who does not want to go an extra mile for a coke types... just report it....financial well being should be considered very good reason to avoid such activity.....report it as soon as you sense it...

if they like look like somebody who's actually going to cause irreparable loss of a physical kind to somebody probably more innocent....report it...
society and life can be wierd and really cruel to people below a certain financial level, and it may sometimes be really cruel to not ignore, let alone report, some simple bad activity like that..

i guess one can consider it a reminder that our societies are great in that they can afford things like this..
