YES, it is safe depending on how they are stored. I saw a show on Dateline or one of those TV news shows about this. Drugs can last years beyond the expiration dates with no degradation. The expiration date is just so the pharmaceutical companies to make more money.
I've used drugs that supposedly expired 2 years before with no problems.

I know for a fact that taking expired prescription drugs can be harmful for you. I don't know all the why's behind this. Perhaps if a person is taking something for their heart an expired drug would have lost its full potentcy, there fore leaving the person at risk for a heart attack or a stroke.

I work in a pharmacy as a technician and the reason meds expire are because after so much time they lose potentcy and effectiveness. So you really aren't going to better yourself by saving money from taking expired meds, just pay for a refill.

You should never take any thing that has expired Prescription or OTC. The chemical makeup can change. Check with the pharmacy where you got it filled to be safe.

I wouldn't think they'd already be expired. Usually medication lasts a few years once you've purchased it, with the exception of refrigerated medicines. I think you'd be safe to take it.

No it is not safe to take. When drugs expire, their potency can either increase (even to a toxic level) or decrease which would do nothing of what it is supposed to. You have to get a new prescription for it.

It's probably best not to use them, however, most expiration dates on meds are arbitrary and a ploy by the pharmaceutical companies to get you to pay for more of their overpriced crap.

I am pretty sure that it isn't safe. I also believe that they loose their potency after a while.
