I took a test 4 days ago which was positive and have took another which was negative what does this mean? I havn't told my bf yet because i don't know if i'm prgnant.

There are many false negatives but rarley a false positive. I would go ahead and act as if you are pregnant until you find out for sure. You can not have a false positive unless you are taking medication that contains the HCG hormone. The tests only turn positive when HCG is detected. If you are not taking any medication head to your doctor for prenatal vitamins and develop your plan on what you want to do from this point. Good luck & I wish you the best!!

pregnancy tests can vary on answers the best thing to do is to go to the doctor for a blood test it measures the hcg (pregnancy hormone in your blood and if it is over the amount for pregnancy then hun u r pregnant but u must be pregnant cause the test picked up enough hcg some tests are sensititve to hcg and some need alot of it it depends on the test u took might i suggest clear blue or first response they r the best ones im gonna give u a few websites i think may help u good luck and god bless u all a baby is a wonderful miracle and gift from god

It means you aren't taking the test right or reading it right or you have a faulty test or something. What brand of test are you using? Are you following the instructions to the letter? Are you using first morning urine to test? My advice would be to go to the store and buy a first response test(NOT DIGITAL, all the digital brands are known to be less accurate at giving results) Wait til first thing in the morning and take the test and read it within the time limit for the test. If it's positive then you are pregnant and if it's negative, wait and see if your period comes on and if it doesn't, then go see your Dr and have a blood test done to find out. I wouldn't say anything to the boyfriend either way until you know for sure.

When I thought I was pregnant I bought probably 6-8 tests. Took them all every single one was positive except 2. I figured what the heck??? I might as well just go get it checked out since I started feeling symptoms or what not but all I can say is go see a doctor :0)

While home pregnancy tests are reliable there are reasons why they may give a false positive. To get a definitive result you will have to see your doctor.

hmmm thats a little wierd! were they the same brans? some brands of test have to have alot more hcg hormone than others i would take another with the same brand name and see what that says. i hope everything works out good luck!!
