If you have a ratio of 1.85/200, and you are trying to find how much 40 will be, do a cross-multiplication.
1.85/200 = x/40
Cross-multiply....
74 = 200x
Divide by 200.
x = $0.37

For 200 feet , cost is 1.85
for 1 foot, the cost is 1.85/200=0.00925
for 40 feet =0.00925 x 40 = $0.37

or simply divide 200 by 40
then divide 1.85 by the answer

Speaker wire isn't sold in 40 foot rolls. It only comes in 50 and 100 foot rolls.
